The Cardinal

By | Conscious Remembering, Inner Vision, Spirituality | No Comments

There is a cardinal that often visits our backyard. These visits are nothing out of the ordinary. Plenty of birds visit the dense tree population of our neighborhood. Yet, the male cardinal, with its striking red coloring stands out in the summer landscape of deep greens and browns and the stark winter pallet of gray. Of all there is to see, my eye is immediately directed to him wherever he is perched. There is no denying his presence. I continue to affirm that my inner vision sees spiritual truth in the same way. This truth teaches and reminds us that all is well, all the…

Shout It Out

Today, I know that everything that has transpired in my life has brought me to this moment of awareness. As I become aware of the now – the fact that I am breathing, that there is food in my belly, a roof over my head and clothes on my back, I can see that I have more in my life than a great deal of our world’s population. I am aware that I am free to think, act and choose regarding my education, my political and sociological beliefs, to worship in what ever way speaks to my brand of spirituality. And more and…

Life Is Always Fair

By | Conscious Remembering, New Thought, Spirituality | No Comments

People do not seem to realize that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.  ~  Ralph Waldo Emerson Our relationship with our world is the overriding template for our relationship with everything. A bold statement, yes, but when you earnestly combine the infallible workings of spiritual law to the way each of us operates in life, then you can see the truth in Emerson’s words. The most powerful thing any of us can ever remember and then apply is the fact that it is never about anything or anyone ‘out there.’ Our experience, attitude and circumstance is not created from what anyone did…

A Horse of a Different Color

By | Awareness, Conscious Remembering, Reclaiming Freedom | No Comments

The inhabitants of Troy tyrannized the ancient Greeks for many years. Fueled by an undeniable demand for independence,  the Greeks staged an elaborate plan to win back their  freedom. They began by staging a mass exit where many appeared to flee by sea. In this apparent running away, they left behind a monument – a wooden horse of enormous proportion. Amused by the Greeks decision to run away, the soldiers of Troy boastfully claimed the horse as a victory trophy and, by trolley and rope, wheeled it into their cities heavily guarded compound.  During the night, those who had appeared to  leave by sea returned to a strategic…

You must walk into the cave unreluctant As you enter, your eyes momentarily entertain the vapid darkness, yet it is your heart that will see.  It is your heart that will beat with signals of illumination, shedding light for your yet-to-be steps. You must walk into the cave unreluctant At first you doubt your ability to navigate the jagged twists and unknown turns that await.  Still, by the simple act of entering, your instincts reawaken and you are welcomed home to the ancient wisdom nestled patiently within your own mind. You must walk into the cave unreluctant And for those…

Problems

You run and in your running you feel a temporary assurance that all this fear will stay locked in some distant room whose door you never have to open. You fight and in your fighting you feel that if you can just be louder, stronger, more long-standing in your aggression that the possibility of something or someone defeating you can be delayed. You stay and in your staying you uncover an internal creative power that has waited in anticipation for your recognition. You are reminded that fear will travel with you regardless how far you run. You are reminded that in your resistance…

Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled

By | Awareness, Conscious Remembering, Overcoming Fear | No Comments

We were memorably told, “Let not your heart be troubled…” Every day on this fascinating journey of earthly life, we encounter situations that can trigger emotions of hurt, sorrow, and a host of fearful thoughts. The above loving invitation from the master teacher Jesus is a strong reminder for us to not let our hearts or our focus of attention remain troubled by outer conditions – to not linger in these triggers. The reasoning is that our evolving  personal consciousness is paralleled with our belief in God as omniscient. To be aware of the allness of Intelligence is to experience the allness of Intelligence.  To be aware…

Breathe In

By | Awareness, Conscious Remembering, Inner Vision, Reclaiming Freedom, Spirituality | One Comment

Breathe in the particles of power that swarm and move in and around you. Everything your heart desires can be breathed in through an acceptance of one who has no problem receiving. What you crave is as readily available as air. Would you deny air? Why, then, deny the treasures that already have your name chiseled upon them? Breath in the relief that comes through revisiting the porch of plenty. Breath in your wholeness – the complete synchronicity that links one internal system to another. Breathe in your yearning’s long awaited relief, your creativity’s acceptance and honoring. Breathe in your eternal…
